ApeosWide TIFF Driver Ver.1.12.1
Release Note
(C) FUJIFILM Business Innovation Corp. 1997-2021
*******************************************************************************

1. Preface

This software is a driver for output from an application program running on
English Microsoft(R) Windows(R) OS to FUJIFILM DocuWide printer.
Please refer to "readme.txt" about Environment and Printer.

This document describes restrictions when you use this driver.

2. Limitations for optional settings

 --1. Job Type --

DW2055 / DW3030 will not print data if secure print function is not
        equipped.
However, if DW3030 controller version is before Ver.1.3.00, it will
output the print data. Refer to DocuWide 3030 User Guide for the
procedure of checking the controller version.

 --2. Paper/Output Size--

        1) Paper sizes for which [Yes] have been selected at [Edit [Paper/Output
Size]] are displayed in [Paper/Output Size]. This setting can be
enabled from [Configuration] tab of Printer Properties dialog (*1).
If you do not want to display certain sizes, select [No] at [Edit
           [Paper/Output Size]].

*1 A dialog displayed by selecting in the following order:
             - Select in the order of [Start] -> [Settings] -> [Printer].
             - Select the corresponding printer, and display [Properties] from
               [file] menu.

        2) The Paper Size and Output Size must be defined in the following
combinations. If the paper size is standard size, long print cannot
           be specified as Output Size.

                Paper Size Output Size
               ----------------------------------------------------------
Standard Standard (including [Same as Paper Size]
                Long Print Standard
Long Print Long Print (including [Same as Paper Size]

        3) If an A0-size output command is sent to A1-size printer (such as
DW2055), the A0-size image is clipped and output by the designated
size paper, based on the paper mapping definition of the logical
printer setting for the corresponding printer port.
In this case, it is recommended to edit the setting not to display
A0 size by [Edit [Paper/Output Size]].

        4) It is not available to print outside of the printable area of the
paper. If a warning message appears when attempting to print from an
application software, check the paper setting from the application
and set the image to be printed inside of the printable area. If
printing is continued, a part of image may be missing.

        5) If the output paper size is bigger than specified, check the paper
           margin setting from the printer.

        6) If [Use Printer Setting] is selected for Output Size, make sure to set
paper group and size/paper mapping by the logical printer settings for
           the corresponding printer port.

        7) [Fit to Image Size] can be selected only when [Image Area Only] is
checked on. When [Fit to Image Size] is selected, the actual output
           sizes are as follows:

-Standard size series is specified as paper size:
Printed on the corresponding standard size media.

-Long print is specified as paper size:
When the image length is longer than the standard size,
the media is cut by synchronized cut.
When the image length is within the standard size,
it is printed on the standard size media.

        8) [Reduce large document to A3] of [Output Size] allows a document
larger than A3 that is printable from DocuWorks 7, to be printed as
an A3 size document in a similar way as DocuWorks 6.

 --3. Image Area Only--

        1) When [Image Area Only] is checked on, output size is automatically
set to [Fit to Image Size]. To specify the output size, change the
           output size setting manually.
If the image area is bigger than the specified output size, the
specified output size has priority and the data is clipped by the
           printer.

        2) [Image Are Only] cannot be selected with [2 up] and [4 up].
To select [Image Area Only], select [1 up].

        3) When [Image Are Only] is checked on and [Fit to Image Size] is
specified, Output Orientation is automatically set to [Auto].

        4) When [Image Area Only] is checked on, no margin is added to the output
media. Therefore, it is required to set top and bottom margins
especially when outputting the long print. To set Top and bottom
margins, click [Margin/Print Position] button and check on
           [Margin(Long Print)].

 --4. Reduce/Enlarge--

        1) If a check mark is not entered at [Reduce/Enlarge], R/E percentage is
automatically calculated by Paper Size and Output Size.
R/E percentage for Long Print is calculated by the width of output
           paper.

        2) If a check mark is entered at [Reduce/Enlarge], specified R/E
percentage is used for reducing/enlarging the image.
The reduced/enlarged image is printed on the specified size of paper.
If the enlarged/reduced image cannot be printed on the specified size
of paper, output image is clipped.
The clipped area is basically on the top and right side of the output
image, although it is different depending on the application.
If the image size is smaller than the specified output size as a
result of enlargement/reduction, margin will be added for the output
           image.
The margin area is basically on top and right side of the image.
Although it is different depending on the application software.

        3) [Port] and [Land] under Reduce/Enlarge match the orientation of the
paper output. By setting [Output Orientation] to [Port] or [Land],
the length direction of the output paper becomes the [Port] specified
for Reduce/Enlarge. For this reason, the specified Reduce/Enlarge
setting is applied to the specified output orientation.
For normal use, set [Output Orientation] to [Port] or [Land].

        4) Reduced/Enlarge function cannot be used if Multi-up has been selected
and [Reduce large document to A3] of Output Size has been selected.

 --5. Synchronized cut--

        1) This function can be selected only when 'Long Print' has been
           specified for paper size.

        2) This driver supports data output up to 15m; however, in the case of
an application software which has the concept of paper size (ex.
Microsoft Excel 2000/2002/2003), the maximum length is 3,276mm.
The actual output length depends on the memory size mounted on the
printer, paper size, and paper type. For the detail, please refer to
the user guide of each printer.

        3) When specifying the output size by Custom Length, the plotting result
is not guaranteed if the output media length is shorter than the paper
           width.

        4) When specifying the length by Auto Length, set appropriate lead and
trail margins by logical printer designated by the port setting.
It is also required to set appropriate lead and trail margins when
setting Custom Length when [Image Area Only] has been selected.

        5) When [Image Area Only] has been selected and the media length is
specified by Custom Length, the image is generated by the specified
           length of the data.
If the data length is longer than the specified length, the image is
generated from the specified length of data.
If the data length is shorter than the specified length, the output
paper length is the sum of the actual data length and lead and trail
           edge.
The meaning of specifying the custom length is different according to
the specification of [Image Area Only].

 --6. Output Orientation--

        1) [Landscape] cannot be specified when [Long Print] has been selected
           for Output Size.

        2) Output Orientation setting becomes invalid when [Use Printer Setting]
has been selected for Output Size.
If appropriate orientation media has not been prepared in the printer
after setting this function, a message stating to add media is
displayed on the control panel of the printer. The printer stops
printing operation unless the job is cancelled.

        3) User cannot specify roll or tray for Paper Source in Tray/Output tab
when he/she specifies "Auto" or "Use Printer Setting" for Output
           Orientation in the Basic tab.

 --7. Print to File--

        1) You cannot specify [Libraries] in the destination folder specification
of when specifying the folder to save in [Print to File Setting].

       [64bit]
        2) When you specify the same file name in [Print to File] from 32bit
application, the overwrite confirmation screen will not be displayed
and the file will be overwritten.

 --8. Print by Reverse Order--

[Print by Reverse Order] cannot be specified when [Multi-up] has been
        selected.

 --9. Folder--

        1) Will be displayed when [Folder] of [Finisher] in the [Configuration]
           tab is selected.

        2) When [Use Printer Setting] or any settings other than [Off] is
selected, [Margin], [Fold Adjustment], [Stack by 90Rotation],
[Corner Fold] will be available for selection.

 --10. Simple folder--

        1) Will be displayed when [Simple folder] of [Finisher] in the
           [Configuration] tab is selected.

        2) When [Use Printer Setting] or any settings other than [Off] is
selected, [Margin] and [Fold Adjustment] will be available for
           selection.

 --11. 10-bin stacker--

        1) Will be displayed when [10-bin stacker] of [Finisher] in the
           [Configuration] tab is selected.

        2) The start bin when [Collated] is selected depends on the setting of
the logic printer settings specified by the print destination port.

        3) [Folding] will be available for selection when any of [Bin 1] to
           [Bin 10] is selected.

 --12. Baler--

        1) Will be displayed when [Baler] of [Finisher] in the [Configuration]
           tab is selected.

 --13. Print Mode--

        1) Print mode for Reduction/Enlargement can be selected.
The default mode is [High Speed(Text)]. In order to prevent the moire
in Reduction/Enlargement mode or to print fine dither filled pattern,
select [High Quality(Photos)]. To prevent the lack of fine lines,
           select [Drawings].

--14. Use Dithering for Black Color Drawing--

        1) When printing colored documents, prints colored (except for black)
texts / figures / charts / graphs with halftone processing. When this
option is unchecked, filled-in area processed by dither method is
converted into black. It is recommended to uncheck this function when
the print density of color image displayed on the screen (such as CAD)
           is too light.
However, if in case the application software sends filled-in pattern
to driver without processing, or the data is processed as an image,
the data will be printed as it is.

 --15. Contrast--

        1) Adjusts the contrast of photo image.

 --16. Header/Footer--

If a check mark is entered at [Date] or [Time], the current date or
time is displayed in the column of [Header/Footer].
The actual date and time printed on the output is the time when you
submit printing job from the PC. Even if the date and time displayed
on PC is different from the actual ones, they are printed on the output.

 --17. Enable Account Setup --
        It is only displayed for AW3030 / AW6050 / DW3035 / DW3037 / DW6035 / DW6055

Although it is possible to select even when [Job Parameter Settings]
on the [Configuration] tab to [Off], the disabled [Use Printer Setting]
        will become selected.
Even when [Serial Number] of [Watermark] for DW2055 is set to [Print],
[Collate] for [Tray/Output] tab on this driver will be on, or the [Serial
Number] is not printed during collated output print settings of the
        application.

 --19. Output Destination --
        It is displayed for AW3030 / AW6050 / DW2055 / DW3037 / DW6057. The output
destination switches between the front output and the rear output.

 --20. QR Code Mode --
It improves the printed text of the black QR code. As text of the color
QR code is printed after halftone processing, it may not be scanned
        properly.

 --21. Substitute Tray --
        It is displayed for DW3035 / DW3037 / DW6057.
To designate, you must select [Auto] from [Output Orientation] on the
[Basic] tab, and [Auto] from [Paper Source] on the [Tray/Output] tab.

 --22. Custom Paper Size --
Administrator rights are necessary for changing the setting of Custom
        Paper Size.

Please modify printer properties according to the following steps.
        * Select the printer from the printer folder and Right-click the printer
          and then select "Printer properties".
        * Click the "Change Sharing Options" on the "Sharing" tab, and then
change the setting of Custom Paper Size.

If "Change Sharing Options" is not displayed, change the "File and
printer sharing" setting to "turn off" by following procedures.
(Change to "turn on" after you changed the setting of Custom Paper Size.)
          (1) Open the "Control Panel", and then click the "Network and Internet".
(Go to step 2 if the "Network and Internet" is not displayed)
          (2) Click the "Network and Sharing Center".
          (3) Click the "Change advanced Sharing settings".
          (4) Select the "Turn off file and printer sharing"in "File and printer
              sharing".
          (5) Click the "Save changes".

 --23. Substitute brush --
Continues drawing by the other command when the driver fails to obtain
the correct information of the brush.
This is useful when the application isn't suitable for printing. Please
        select [On] normally.

 --24. Density Adjustment --
        Specifies the dithering density.

 --25. Screen --
Turn the gDensity Adjustmenth on to adjust the size of the halftone
dots. High Definition (Uniform Pattern) enables to print texts and fine
        lines very clearly.
High definition (Random Pattern) improves the image quality when printing
        fine lines.
When [Screen] is [High Definition(Uniform Pattern)] and printing on reduce
(or multi-up) setting, part of halftone may not be drawn correctly. In
this case, select another [Screen] option, or change the reduce rate.

 --26. Thicken Fine Lines --
Thickens the lines when fine lines are not printed well.

3. Application-Specific Limitations

  1) Microsoft does not support printing on roll paper from Office application
software. Therefore, custom sizes bigger than standard size may not be
      printed properly.

  2) When printing the entire of or multiple sheets of Microsoft Excel book,
the print setting specified by sheet is invalid. If resolution or print
quantity is different by sheet, it cannot be printed as batch output. This
operation is specified by Microsoft Excel.

  3) If same setting can be specified both in driver and application,
prioritized setting is different depending on the application.

      Example)
When printing from Microsoft Excel after specifying [Copies] and entering
a check mark on [Collate] from Properties of the driver, printed copies
are collated even if a check mark is not entered at [Collate] in print
      dialog box.
When printing from Microsoft PowerPoint, [Collate] of print dialog box has
the priority for specifying the number of copies.

  4) For paper size, value specified in Microsoft Word Page Setting is valid.
The setting in driver property will be ignored.

  5) A0-size may not be output from Acrobat 5.0.5 or above version.
In this case, printing may be enabled by changing the resolution in
driver's Properties, or checking-on [Print as image] in print dialog of
      Acrobat.

  6) If an application (ex. AutoCAD) does not share the paper orientation
setting with the driver specification, make the paper orientation of the
driver the same as the paper direction defined in the application before
      printing for synchronized cut.

  7) [Auto Length] in [Synchronized cut] specification may not be valid
depending on the application in use. In this case, check on [Image area
      only] in driver's Properties.

  8) Driver property setting for print cannot be valid in some applications.
In this case, select a printer from printer folder, and specify print
      settings in properties.

  9) When printing from Imaging, there is a case that A0 or larger size cannot
be printed. In this case, set the reolution to 200dpi in driver property.

 10) When printing from Illustrator, there is a case that A1 or larger size
document cannot be printed. Printing may succeed when setting lower
resolution with driver properties, or cheking on [Bitmap printing] in
      Illustrator print dialog.

 11) In several applications, [Print to File] may prompt error message and
printing and file may not be created properly.

 12) AutoCAD DWG files which have page settings registered may not be able to
retain settings when accessed on another PC. In this case carry out the
necessary settings again on the other PC.

 13) Output may fail even when you select [Auto Length] from [Synchronized Cut]
when printing from Microsoft PowerPoint. There is a size limitation in
PowerPoint. Input the desired length in [Custom Length]. If you are still
unable to print, lower the resolution in the [Graphics] tab.

 14) In CATIA V5 (32bit version), polygon fill function in drafting mode
does not operate. This phenomenon does not occur on 64bit version.

 15) A warning window is displayed twice when you select [Cancel] on [Enter User
Details] window of Accounting when printing from Microsoft Word.
In this case select [Cancel] again.

 16) When printing from DocuWorks 7.0 and [Fit to Original Size] is selected
at the Advanced Settings dialog of DocuWorks, only documents of which the
width and length are within 3276mm may be printed properly.
When printing DocuWorks documents exceeding 3276mm, select [Fit to page]
at the Advanced Settings dialog and set the paper size with the driver
      properties.

 17) In some aplications, an error message may pop up and fail to create a file
when attempting to use "Print to File" function.
